Playing with Baja Breeze

Which one do you like best? The first color combination was intentional... the second one? Well, here's the long and short of it.... when I make cards I usually make 8 - 12 at a time. As I was cutting my layers (namely the square Baja Breeze layer) I ran out of card stock... and being the thrifty person that I am, I didn't want to cut up an entire sheet of Baja Breeze for just 1 one more 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" layer. So, off I went searching for a complimentary color scrap. Chocolate chip it is...

Personally... I like the second card. How about you?

Introducing my Cuttlebug

My Cuttlebug has been a part of my stamp family for several months now. And now that we've been acquainted for a time I wanted to introduce her to the rest of the clan. Everyone - this is my bright, sunshiney, Cuttlebug - "Cutie"!

Reviving Sage Shadow?

In my attempts to find more color combos with Sage Shadow I squeaked these cards out today. Still not sure about this color combo. But that trusty website recommended it! (http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/) So I figured I'd try.

Card #1 - I'm really not loving it at all. I struggled with this for so long that I put it down several times, pulled a layer or two apart and then completely rebuilt it. Colors: Gable Green, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, River Rock, Sage Shadow and Very Vanilla.

However, as the scraps lay on the table I saw the color combination for Card #2! And I'm liking that one a lot more. Colors: Sage Shadow, Kraft, Wild Wasabi (DSP), River Rock, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.

What do YOU think? Which color combo looks better?

Or do you not like it all? Come on, be honest!

Well everybody - I'd like to introduce a new set to you... it's called CHEERS TO YOU! This is a stamp set I've been asking for ... and asking for ... and asking for! WOO HOO for martini time! Oh sorry, I'm getting a little carried away here... my apologies.

This excitement is shrouded in shame that once again I TOTALLY and BLATANTLY CASE'd someone else's design. My friend Amy sent me a card several weeks back... and it's been hanging in front of my stamp desk ever since! Just the inspiration I needed to find some a new color combo to play with along this FABULOUS stamp set!

ps - feeling spoiled! I've actually found 2 1/2 hours to "play" today! how lucky am i?!

6"x6" recipes and a really cool stand!!!

Finally - I finished this project. Over all... the items used in this project have been in the works since 2006.

Ready for the timeline breakdown?
2006: 6" x 6" recipe swap w/ lots of ladies
2007: bought the 6" x 6" scrapbook pages to use at some point in the future
May 2008: received recipe stand in the mail as a gift from a friend (there you go again, Amy!)
Today: bought the rings to hang recipe pages with and covered wood recipe stand w/ some Summer Picnic DSPaper (using Tombow multipurpose adhesive).

On a personal note: If you know anything about me - it's that I've always got projects under way. And many months ago I made a goal to start completing projects. Notice I didn't say "START AND complete"?! Just COMPLETE. I've got so many projects going on in this house - I just need a year of plowing through all of them to finish them and put them in their respective places. ONE DONE FOR TODAY! ::: patting myself on the back :::
