Playing with a new color combo AND a new Cuttlebug die

I discovered this color combo in a recent swap and wanted to "make it my own"... so to speak. Coincidentally my best girl friend just found out she's having a girl... and it's her birthday this month. Clearly, it was time to put this color combo to work - and to use it on her.
At the same time I just got a new Cuttlebug die in the mail - called "Paisley". So, I had to play with that too 'cuz it's extra girly.
Disclaimer - Once again I find myself apologizing for my photo editing software - as it doesn't like this color combo and by adjusting the colors it makes some of the colors appear "off". See below for the SU colors I used on this one.
Details, details...
Stamp set: So Many Scallops (SU SAB '08)
Colors: Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom and Kraft
Other: Scallop punch, chocolate chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon and pretty in pink 1/4" grosgrain ribbon

Coloring on vellum paper

Ok - so a friend of mine (thanks for the inspiration Lisa) told me about the idea of stamping an open image on the back of vellum and then coloring it in w/ the watercolor wonder crayons. What?! Color on vellum?! Well it makes so much sense! If you mount it w/ the crayon side to the white paper below then there's no danger of it smudging! Fabulous!

So, clearly I had to test it out for myself. I attached the vellum to whisper white card stock (after daubing some color on the white, of course) with the great SU brads... and voila!

Details, details...
Stamp sets: Time Well Spent (Hostess set, level 3) and Much Appreciated
Colors: Old Olive, Groovy Guava, Taken With Teal, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White
Other SU products: White vellum card stock, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Earth Elements brads, sponge daubers, Bali Breeze Designer Series Paper, 1/2" Circle punch, Cherished Memories rub-on

Gift card holder swap

I recently participated in a swap for gift card holders. This was mine... it's normal size for a card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") so it'll fit into an envelope nicely. Under the Designer Label punch / embellishment I made a slit punch in the printed/flower paper to hold the card. The punch out slit of paper is then adhered to the back of the Designer Label punch wrapped around the card to secure the gift card in place. Nice, eh?! I thought so!

Details, details...
Stamp set: Time Well Spent (Hostess set, level 3)
Colors: Certainly Celery, Old Olive, and Groovy Guava
Other SU products: Bali Breeze Designer Series Paper, Designer lable punch, Slit punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, and Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon

Sympathy card

Of all the cards I make I least enjoy making sympathy cards. So, when I make them I make a number of them to set aside. This may sound very introspective, but finding the right balance between sympathy, thoughtfulness, creativity, and friendship is a tough one in making these cards. So, when I find that delicate balance - I harness it and make a dozen of these cards and then stick them at the back of the box hoping I don't have to use anymore of them.
A friend of mine had some tragic news w/ family members, involving a devastating car accident. So, this was off in the mail the next day... and I'm hoping I don't have to use anymore of these cards for a long time.

Happy Easter!

Just playing around w/ scraps today and had to come up w/ a card to go with an Easter basket. Here you have it. The eggs are made using SU's two different sized oval punches. And I simply snipped the "grass" with the blade of scissors. Quick and cute... which is what I was going for.

May your Easter be blessed! He is Risen!
