Saturday Scraps challenge (SSC03)

Here it is... my quickly put together Saturday Scraps challenge card for this week. I've had this stamp set and these scraps sitting on the edge of my desk for a while now and wanted to use them together. Plus, I have a couple friends I want to get a card off to. So I hopped to it today when I should have been cleaning the mess we call a home.

At least SOMETHING got cleaned up... the edge of my desk! HA!

One of these days I'll figure out a way to get others to play along w/ my challenges and they can clean up their desks too!

Details, details...
Stamp set: Season of Friendship
Colors: Kraft, Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Mellow Moss, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze
Other: Scallop edge punch, stampin' dimensionals and non-SU flat back pearls

Saturday Scraps challenge (SSC03)

Haven't done one of these in a few weeks. And isn't that how it goes?! Several months back I wanted to start a weekend scraps challenge. And as you can tell, I posted it for two weeks - and then completely forgot about it! Argh...

Anyhow... here it is for this weekend. I looked at the pile of these scrap colors sitting on the corner of my craft table and knew I had to try them together soon ... I'll be posting my creation in the next day or two... aren't these gorgeous colors together for the Fall?!

SU Colors: More Mustard, Mellow Moss, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze

If you choose to participate, simply leave a comment with a link to your blog or SCS gallery (use the code SSC03)... and we'll check it out. I'll pick my top favs on Monday 10/13 and leave a post here.

Life is good...

That's right... it sure is! Today it's raining! And it was the first time I've had to take a picture of my truck w/ "clean windows" to get a picture of my Decor Elements "truck tattoo". Like it?!

I saw a note somewhere else several months back about someone putting this on their hubby's truck and on the family boat... and I just loved it. So purchased it for my own truck! I have had people ask about it in all sorts of parking lots, people point at it on the freeway and give me a "thumbs up", etc. And even our pastor noted it last Sunday saying he didn't know who the truck belonged to but wanted to point out a few reasons why "life is good" before the rest of the service got under way!

I simply love this... going along w/ the thought that "Your attitude determines your altitude"... life can be crummy but if you focus on that then it really IS going to be crummy. However, when you live w/ the mentality that "Life is Good" then the sun seems to shine a bit longer and a bit warmer.

Thanks to SU for helping me share this thought with others...

If you'd like one of these for yourself visit my site and look for the "Shop Now" button...

The Decor Elements line is growing by leaps and bounds with all sorts of new colors, designs and ideas!

Double take... all about dismantling and re-purposing!

These cards look rather similar, don't they?! That's the point... here's the deal...

The first card (red one)... was an invite to lil' Nathan's 3rd birthday celebration!

And Nathan's aunt Debbie recommended that I take apart the invite and reuse some of the pieces just to "mess with Mommy"... and that we did! HA! Lisa - got ya! That was a priceless look on your face when you opened the card ... and like a puppy, tilted your head to the side! HA! Priceless!

I knew she would recognize the work... and then I knew she'd think to herself, "Lori has an Elmo stamp?!" And from there we witnessed the tilting of the head.

I took the top layers off the card... threw my own scallop edge layer in there, and mounted it to a different dark background card... adding my own frame and birthday message to turn it from Invite to Bday Card! And here's her reaction...
